Posted

Texas County Memorial Hospital has named Nathan Riley of Vanzant the September Employee of the Month. Riley works as a physical therapist assistant in the physical therapy department. He has been employed at TCMH for one year. Ellen Willis, director of physical therapy, nominated Riley for the award.

“Nathan does an excellent job with everything he does,” Willis said.

“He is truly an asset to our physical therapy department and the hospital.”

Willis mentioned that two different patients expressed how they would like to see Nathan nominated for an employee award.  Both patients conveyed that he invests in their care and truly listens to their needs. They stated he has helped them return to the things they love and to reach their specific goals.

“Nathan has sought out educational opportunities to add services to our department in the short time he has been with TCMH,” Willis said.  Willis noted that Nathan trained in Instrument Assisted Myofascial Release which has already proven to be an asset to many of our patients. This new process has allowed for improvement with our patient’s soft tissue mobility. Willis further noted that Riley is always quick to help his fellow employees and other staff with jobs that aren’t typically part of physical therapy.

She added that if there was one word to describe Nathan it would be dedicated. As employee of the month, Riley received a certificate honoring his achievement; a pin; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a $50 gift card, and gift certificates to Paws N Claws, D&L Florist, Wehr Motors, Savor Grill and Big Red Car Wash.  A reception will be held in his department to honor Riley. Riley is eligible for the 2021 TCMH employee of the year award.
