Posted

Nancy Amelia (Werst) Prock, daughter of Benjamin and Melissa Belle (Hittle) Werst, was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Jefferson County, Kan. She peacefully left this life Dec. 5, 2020, in her home. She was 90 years, 1 month and 25 days at her passing. She met the love of her life, Haskel Prock, at a tender age – marrying him on Sep. 4, 1948. Four children were born to their union: Kathy, Barbara, Lucy and Donald. Nancy received Jesus Christ into her heart in 1950 after attending a revival with her family. Her sincere devotion to the Lord was always apparent to those who knew her. She was faithful to attend church, even teaching children’s church; attempting to do her best to live the love of God she deeply believed in. She was attending Blue Buck Church at the time of her passing. Singing, listening to gospel music, reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren were a few of the things she loved to do. She enjoyed living in the country, seeing the baby calve, and always watching out for deer and other wildlife! Over the years, Nancy worked hard from the time she was a teenager; being a homemaker, helping pick cherries with her husband, and even doing secretarial work when he started a drywall business. Moving from Kansas to Washington to Missouri then Indiana for many years before her final move to Missouri (while in her 80s).

Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Haskel William Prock; her infant son, Donald Leon Prock; her grandson, William (Donnie) Imhausen; son-in-law, Jim Schober Sr.; along with several sisters and brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Imhausen, and husband, Jim, of Clayton, Ind.; Barbara Prock Gillum, of Mountain Grove; Lucy Schober Walker and husband, Mark, of Mountain Grove; her grandchildren, Amelia Nguyen, of Florida; Darla Slaughter and husband, Ben, near Brownsburg, Ind.; Haskel Carroll and wife, Jocelyne, of Clayton, Ind.; Heather Michel and husband, Eric, of Nixa; Rob Carroll and wife, Tammy, of Clayton, Ind.; Kharja Teed and husband, Chris, of Battlefield; Jim Schober Jr. and wife, Dalene, of Mountain Grove; Chris Schober and wife, Lyndse, of Mountain Grove; Angel Olenberger and husband, Eddie, of Bartlesville, Okla.; Dusty Schober and wife, Jessica, of Mountain Grove; 32 great-grandchildren in her family; her surviving sister, Frances Werst Barnhart, of Ellensburg, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy gave all of us a legacy of love and faith; she will be missed greatly. We gratefully take comfort in knowing she is with the Lord.
