The Mountain Grove coaching staff knew it wasn’t going to be easy before the Panthers traveled to Buffalo last Friday night for a shot at winning a Class 3, District 5 championship.
They drew a 9-2 Bison program whose offense had scored 33 or more points in 10 games this season and were looking for their first district title in 20 years.
Unfortunately, Buffalo was just too much for Mountain Grove as they led 35-0 at halftime and cruised to a 42-0 victory.
It was the Panthers first trip to the district title game since the 2017-2018 season when they lost to Ava.
