Mountain Grove cheerleader Molly Perkins officially signed a letter of intent last week to continue her cheer career on the collegiate level at NCAA Division II Drury University.

Perkins was joined at her official signing in the Arena by her family, friends and fellow high school cheerleaders and coaches.

In joining Drury’s cheerleading squad, Perkins will get the opportunity to compete at the national championships event held annually in Florida. Drury won the Division II Small Coed National Championship in 2020 after taking silver the two previous years.

Mountain Grove head cheerleading coach Amber Williams said Perkins is the fourth cheerleader to continue on at the next level in her eight years leading the program.

“She’s a great role model for all the girls,” Williams said about Molly. “She gets to live her dream. It shows the girls that if you set your mind to it, you can do anything.”

Molly said she’s excited to continue cheering in college.

“I’m super happy…,” she said. “I love cheering at high school and I think it will be great do it at the collegiate level, too.”
