Mansfield CC girls win Summit Conference

What a past week it has been for the Mansfield cross country program after competing in both the Summit Conference and Class 1, District 2 races.

The program finished the week with both an individual and team conference title along with a team and multiple runners advancing to this weekend’s state championships in Columbia.

In the Summit Conference meet held at Conway on Oct. 25, the Lady Lions won the Summit Conference team title. The list of runners includes Cali Lemons, Logan Jones, Madalyn Ivy, Caige Henry, Lauren Jones, Faith Clark, Chloe Lemons and Laikyn Ball.

Individually, four runners finished the race in the Top-10 to earn All-Conference honors.

Faith Clark was second overall with a time of 21:57. Logan Jones was fifth (23:01), Lauren Jones took sixth (24:00) and Caige Henry was 10th (24:25).

On the boys side, Brady Corder won the conference title after his first place time of 17:57. Braxton Bolfing was also All-Conference after taking sixth with a time of 18:56.

The Lions finished third in the team standings. The squad includes Brock Gray, Bolfing, Landen Campbell, Brady Corder, Nolyn Corder and Chase Kelley.

On Oct. 30, the Lady Lions qualified as a full team for the Class 2 state championships after placing third overall.

Logan Jones led the team with a sixth place finish (22:04) to earn All-District honors.

Faith Clark also earned the All-District honor with a seventh place time of 22:09. Lauren Jones finished 23rd (23:34).

As for the Lions, Corder earned All-District honors by placing eighth with a time of 17:44. Bolfing also advanced to state with his 23rd place time of 18:33.

As a team, the Lions were fifth  overall.
