Mae Lilly Parsons, daughter of the late Bill and Mary (Woolard) Davis, was born the second of five children, June 18, 1925, in Dora, and departed this life Nov. 20, 2021, in Mountain Grove. She was 96 years, 5 months and 2 days of age. Mae was raised in Dora and moved to Mountain Grove at the age of 20. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Parsons Sep. 30, 1946. Twelve children were born to this union. Besides her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and seven children, Herbert, Walter, Larry, Janice, Terry, Ricky and Randy. She is survived by five children, Billy Dean Parsons, Richard Parsons, Vickie Collins, Jerry Parsons and Kelly Parsons; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Graveside services for Mae Parsons were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Mountain Grove. The Rev. David Leighty served as the officiant. Special songs were “Amazing Grace” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
