Lonnie Leon Bell, son of Mitchell Leon “Mitch” Bell and Debra Marie Matney Bell Henry, was born Sep. 19, 1977 in Mansfield and departed this life on July 25, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. at the age of 42 years, 10 months and 6 days.

Lonnie and Patricia Crain had three children together and then he and Della Lansdown had one child together. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; three aunts; an uncle; and a brother-in-law, Bud Brazeal. Lonnie is survived by one daughter, Debra Jean, of Mansfield; three sons, Dalton Leon, Dillon Lee and Braxton Lee all of Mansfield; father, Mitch Bell, of Ava; mother, Debra Henry, of Mansfield; three brothers, Shannon Matney (Tina), of Mountain Grove; Joseph Bell, of Mansfield; and Quinton Bell, of Branson; three sisters, Shawnya Matney (Russ), of Mansfield; Christina Kennedy, of Mansfield; and Dedra Brazeal (Kenny), of Imperial; many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

He was born and raised in Mansfield and attended Mansfield Schools, where he graduated in the Class of 1995. He started working at the Feed Mill in Mansfield before he was 16 years old and worked as a welder for many years at Hutchen’s Industries in Mansfield. Lonnie had attended the Assembly of God Church in Mansfield with his siblings and a lot of cousins and friends. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his kids doing whatever they wanted to do, deer hunting, morel hunting, playing darts, watching Nascar and football with the Kansas City Chiefs being his favorite team.

Lonnie was a loving daddy, son, brother, uncle, cousin and met very few strangers. He loved his children and family so much and he will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at Seymour Masonic Cemetery with Bro. Ronnie Roy officiating. Recorded musical selections include “Up On A Hill,” “You Should Be Here,” “Brotherly Love” and “Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound.” Escorts include Shannon Matney, Matt Calhoun, Darron Nichols, Chace Bell, Ray Hicks, Greg Henry and Russ Evans. Honorary escorts are Joseph Bell and Jeffrey Moore. The funeral is under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Mansfield.
