A Mountain Grove woman tragically lost her life in a vehicle accident involving a train at a railroad crossing in Rogersville just before noon on Sunday, June 13.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, Joyce Gorsek, 73, was driving her 2011 Ford F150 across the Porter Crossing road just 50’ east of Rogersville. She was reportedly struck by a train. Her vehicle overturned.
The train crossing had cross-buck signs. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Michaely Taylor.
Gorsek was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
No injuries were reported for the driver of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe engine, guided by Jason Westrip, 41, of Crane.
