Trevor Christian and Jenna Glendenning have been named the Athletes of the Year in the Lebanon R-3 School District.
Christian and Glendenning were chosen by voters from a pool of 13 athletes who were nominated by their coaches. A 25-member committee voted on the list of finalists to select the two winners.
“All of our finalists for Athlete of the Year were very worthy of recognition for their outstanding accomplishments. Our two winners are extremely deserving of their selection. We are extremely proud of all these young people,” said Lebanon Activities Director Will Christian.
The winners, as well as the finalists, will be honored Thursday in a special Facebook Live virtual ceremony.
The boy finalists were Mason DeVasure (football), Zach Richards (soccer), Quentin Shelton (basketball), Bryson Crowell (tennis), Tanner Roy (track) and Tyler Paul (baseball). The girl finalists were Danessa Howe (tennis), Halle Brown (golf), Avery Hays (volleyball), Mackenzie Reeves (softball) and Ashlynn Leochner (wrestling).
Also being honored on Thursday are students who won the 12 Award, which means they played three sports for four years, and the Three Sport Award, which is given to students each year who played three sports.
