Lady Pirates crush Parkview

The Norwood Lady Pirates had an extremely busy week over the last seven days.

They opened the week by hosting Parkview, a large school program from Springfield, and cruised to a 15-0 victory.

Chadwell tossed a three inning shutout and allowed four hits and had two strikeouts.

Offensively, Hailey Hall had two RBIs and two runs scored; Dana Harden added two RBIs and one run scored; Harley Finch, Caitlin Campbell and Brooke Johnson had one RBI and one run scored; Annie Sullivan had one RBI and two runs scored; Cadence Jarrett and Chadwell scored twice; Patience Guenther had one RBI; while Autumn Gunter, Kinley Sinning and Kyle Bradshaw.

Statistics were made available for games played in the Pride Park Tournament, where the Lady Pirates won Consolations.

In the Consolation title game with Alton, Hall had three hits and three RBIs to lift Norwood to a 7-2 win.

Sullivan and Bradshaw had one RBI and one run scored; while both Jarrett and Chadwell scored one run.

On the mound, Chadwell tossed six innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts.

One game earlier, the Lady Pirates beat Dora, 6-5.

Jarrett led Norwood with two hits, two RBIs and one run scored; both Gunter and Bradshaw had one RBI; while Sullivan, Guenther, Campbell and Sinning each scored one run.

Chadwell tossed five innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.

Against Hartville, the Lady Pirates lost a slugfest, 10-8, in the opening round.

Chadwell had a big day with three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored. Sullivan had two RBIs; both Bradshaw and Gunter had one RBI; Campbell had three hits and scored twice; Sinning had two runs scored; while Hall and Natalie Lawson each scored one run.
