Lady Panthers walk-off a winner against Norwood

Madison Emery hit a walk-off triple to lift the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers softball team past Norwood last week in their final at-bat, 5-4.

The Lady Panthers earned the victory in spite of allowing Norwood to score three runs in the sixth inning. Cassie Chadwell, Kylee Bradshaw and Catelin Campbell each had RBIs in the big inning for the Lady Pirates.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Mountain Grove tied things up at 5-5. Kylee Sheppard drove in one when she singled.

Mountain Grove tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Panthers was led by Desi Cantrell and Claire Felker, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Gracie Anderson got the start for Panthers. The lefty went eight innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking one.

Chadwell toed the rubber for Norwood. The hurler went seven innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits and striking out seven.

The Lady Panthers tallied 10 hits. Anderson, Alex Hicks and Emery all collected multiple hits for Panthers. Anderson led Panthers with three hits in five at-bats.

Norwood racked up nine hits on the day. Chadwell, Keyera Cornelison and Sierra Cornelison all had multiple hits for Norwood.

The Lady Panthers ended the week with a tough 15-0 loss to Clever.

Emery had the lone hit in the loss.

Anderson allowed three earned runs on six hits in one and a third inning of work.

Cantrell allowed four earned runs on three hits in two and a third innings. She also had one strikeout.
