Lady Panthers volleyball drops match to Conway

Posted

It was an emotional night for the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers volleyball team last Tuesday. It was the team’s home opener and Mountain Grove honored its two seniors, Kelsey Watson and Gracie Farran. Unfortunately, Farran suffered an injury over the weekend in the Branson tournament and she was unable to play on her Senior Night.

“Opening with Senior Night, I felt like we were more nervous than we should have been,” said Mountain Grove head coach Ashley Martin. “Emotions were high and it was our first time playing on our home floor. I was proud of the way the girls battled. They made an effort to keep the ball off of the floor and we hustled on defense. We need to focus more on serve receive and be more consistent for our setter. Consistency will be key for us this season.”

Mountain Grove lost both games against Conway, 25-19 and 25-19. Watson finished with three kills and three digs.
