Lady Eagles clinch share of Summit title

Defeat Conway in first round to advance in districts

The Hartville Lady Eagles clinched a share of the Summit Conference title for a fourth year in a row on Saturday after knocking off Conway, 66-32.

The win also came in the first round of the loaded Class 3, District 10 tournament.

Hartville played Strafford on Tuesday night after press time in the semifinals.

In the win over the Lady Bears, Hartville jumped out to an early 18-6 lead as Molly Brown hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points in the opening frame.

Jadalyn Keith paced Hartville with seven points in the second quarter to help the Lady Eagles enter halftime with a 39-17 lead.

Keith followed that quarter with three 3-pointers to open the second half. Brown added another five points to give Hartville a commanding 35-point lead heading into the fourth.

Keith led Hartville with 24 points as she made five 3-pointers in the victory.

McKinley Sanders had 13 points; Brown added all 11 of her points in the first half; Kylie Harris scored nine points; Jenna Kelley had six points; and Hannah Keith scored one point.

Before the district win, the Lady Eagles cruised past Fordland, 48-25.

The Lady Eagles led by 12 points at halftime before pulling away in the second half for the easy victory.

Sanders scored a team-high 15 points while Keith had 12 points. Both Brey Flachsmann and Harris had six points. Scoring three points were Kaylee Ferguson, Brown and Kelley.
