For the second time this season, Hartville’s McKinley Sanders hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to secure tournament hardware for the Lady Eagles.

With Hartville down one, Sanders’ 3-point shot from the top of the key hit off the backboard and fell through the rim to put the Lady Eagles over Chadwick, 50-49 for third place in the Sparta Lady Trojan Tournament.

It was a back and forth game as both teams exchanged leads throughout the game.

Chadwick’s Kerrigan Guerin had 11 points in the fourth to put her team up by two before Sanders hit the game winning shot.

Sanders made four 3-pointers in the game and finished with a team-high 25 points.

Molly Brown had 10 points. Both players were named to the All-Tournament team.

Meanwhile, Kylie Harris added seven points, Jenna Kelley scored six points and Hannah Keith had two points.

Their other win in the tournament was a solid 46-19 victory over in-county rival Norwood.
