James William Swisher

James William Swisher, son of the late James and Candace Swisher, was born July 19, 1942, in Blue Eye, and passed away Aug. 26, 2021, at his home in Mountain Grove. He was 79 years, 1 month and 7 days of age. James was a general laborer for most of his life. He worked as an automobile mechanic and a metal fabricator. Recently, he has enjoyed working on small engines such as lawn mowers and weed eaters. Working was his biggest hobby and he loved piddling with his hands, creating or fixing things. James also enjoyed fishing when he was able.  James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Candace; two brothers, Tom Swisher and Frank Swisher; and two sisters, Hattie Ramsey and Ruth Friend.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Swisher; his stepson, Robert Atwood; and many friends who will miss him. Graveside services for James Swisher were held Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Bado Cemetery with Verlin Moore officiating. Song selections were “Precious Memories” and “Old Rugged Cross.”
