James Terrell Dake

James Terrell Dake, son of the late Wilbert Ferrell and Marcella June (McKInnley) Dake, was born Oct. 17, 1951, in Mansfield, and passed away Oct. 31, 2020, in Mountain Grove. He was 69 years and 14 days of age. Jim grew up in the Mansfield area and graduated from Mansfield High School. He worked at Mountain Grove Building Supply for several years. He then worked as an over the road truck driver for many years and worked driving a truck for Peterson’s Gravel and Ready Mix for the remainder of his career. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, monster truck pulls, watching wrestling and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Anetta June Dake, and his sister, Wilma Sue Wright.

He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Rose Taylor and her husband, Raymond, and Jessica Renee Soverns and her husband, Benjamin, all of Mountain Grove; two step-daughters, Dixie McCollum, of Springfield, and Samantha Alcorn, of Viburnam; his grandchildren, Sierra Kloman and her husband, Kelli, of West Bend, Wisc.; along with Aaliyah Soverns, Isabella Cazares, Leland Soverns, Alex Cazares and Emmi Cazares, all of Mountain Grove; and one nephew, Christopher Wright and his wife, Brandi, of Norwood. Memorial services for Jim Dake will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at 3 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home with John Williams officiating. Song selections will be sung by Bernetta Williams.
