James Lee Patterson

James Lee Patterson passed away on Feb. 1, 2021 at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. He was born on Feb. 16, 1947 to Dale and Dorothy (Riggs) Patterson and was one of five children. He served four honorable years in the U.S. Navy on the USS Taylor. “Jim” was a born salesman, setting records throughout his life, from candy as a child to cars and real estate during his career. If it could be sold, he was the best at it. In his later life, he enjoyed his blackberry garden and making his own jam. He will be remembered for his hustle, quick wit, charm and love of family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Dorothy Patterson; his sister, Alice Jones; and his beloved dog, “Queenie.”He is survived by his four children, James Patterson (Renee Toul), Jason Patterson (Kyoko); Sarah Loughridge (Kenny); and Troy Patterson; his siblings, Charles Patterson, Patricia Harris and Barbara Williams; his seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Centennial, Colo. followed by a Memorial for friends and family at 12 p.m. at the Victory Fellowship Church, 4200 S. Acoma St., Englewood, Colo. 80110.
