Jack Wayne Burke, 63, of Mountain Grove, died after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family in his home on April 21, 2020. He was born March 31, 1957. Jack graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1975. On May 29, 1976, Jack married Phyllis Darwin. Jack and Phyllis were married until her passing in April of 2000. They had four children together. Jack met his second wife, Cindy, in October of 2005. They were married June 6, 2012. Jack worked for many years helping his boss and friend, Harley Peckum, and his wife Dr. Nancy Hayes, build their dream home. Jack was a talented man who knew how to build a house from the cellar to the roof. In 2013, Jack was diagnosed with cancer. During the time, Jack and Cindy took custody of four of their grandchildren, spending the last seven years raising them. Jack was a creative and intelligent man, with many interests and hobbies. He was an avid collector of many things, cars and trucks being his favorite. Jack genuinely enjoyed reading, having read thousands of books over his lifetime. Words cannot really describe the kind of man Jack was. He treated his wives like queens. He had a fierce love for his children, even when they did not always see eye to eye. Jack was honest to a fault and always meant what he said. Jack was hardworking, working up until a week before he passed.

Jack is survived by his wife, Cindy Lou Burke; son, Kevin Burke; daughters, Kelly Gordon, Louisa Burke and Emily Burke; step-sons, Marshall Hancock and Marc Daniels; grandchildren, Lily, Khloe, Ayreonah, Annabelle, Kensley, Oakley, Edie, Elsie, Tatum, Olivia, Lucian, Rayvin, Damien, Raedin, Jaxon, Aurora, Quinn and Ahanna.
