Henry signs with C of O

Mansfield senior Jada Henry officially signed a letter of intent last week to continue her basketball career on the collegiate level at the College of the Ozarks.

Henry, an All-State player last season, helped the Lady Lions win their first district title since 1995.

“I’m very blessed to have the opportunity to be able to play on the next level,” Henry said.

“It will be very fun…I think I’ll enjoy it.”

Her high school coach, Dr. Gary Greene, said this signing is a result of her hard work ethic.

“Any time a kid puts in that much time…this is the ultimate reward,” he noted.

“What it says is you don’t have to go to a big school for your dreams to come true. If you put enough hard work, good things will happen.”

C of O head coach Becky Mullis was present for Henry’s signing.

“I think she has a huge upside,” she noted as Mullis really likes Henry’s length and her abilities on the basketball court.

“…At 5’11” at the college level, I just think she can develop into a great college player.”
