Henry scores 1,000th point as Mansfield splits pair of contests

Mansfield senior Jada Henry scored her 1,000th career point for the Lady Lions last week in a tough loss to a quality Miller program.

Meanwhile, Mansfield split the pair of games they played last week.

The Lady Lions lost 74-42 in spite of Henry reaching her 1,000th point milestone after scoring 14 points.

Henry scored eight of the team’s 24 points in the first half.

Six other Lady Lions also scored in the loss.

Lauren Jones had eight points; Macie Tate added seven points; Logan Jones scored five points; both Megan Langley and Haley Tripp had three points; while Shaely Wilson finished the game with two points. Mansfield scored six 3-pointers in the loss.

In the 58-48 win over Cabool, Henry scored a team-high 25 points.

She scored nine points in the fourth quarter alone.

Meanwhile, Logan Jones had 15 points after making two 3-pointers and Lauren Jones added 14 points. She made two 3-pointers in the loss.

Two points were also scored by both Macie Tate and Haley Tripp.

The Mansfield Lady Lions will compete in the Scallywag Showdown from Dec. 7-12 in Norwood.

They will follow the tournament by traveling to Spokane for a game on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
