Hattie Alline Greenfield

Hattie Alline Greenfield, daughter of the late Peter M. and Hattie A. (Tankersley) Ussery, was born Aug. 6, 1929, in Mountain Grove, and passed away Sep. 1, 2021, in Marshfield. She was 92 years and 26 days of age. Alline grew up in Fort Smith, Ark., where she attended a one room grade school house. It was here that she met her future husband, Wallace Greenfield. She graduated with the Northside High School Class of 1948 in Fort Smith, Ark. She was united in marriage to Wallace on May 12, 1949. Three children were born to this union. Alline enjoyed sewing, reading, flower gardens, drawing and painting pictures. She was a hard working farm wife who raised many calves and helped run the dairy farm throughout the years. Alline was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Mountain Grove. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Besides her parents, Alline was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 62 years, Wallace Greenfield; great-grandson, Trevor Greenfield; and great-granddaughter, Paige Greenfield. Alline was the last living child of eight. Her siblings who preceded her in death were, Mozelle Cooper, Vern Ussery, Ray Ussery, Faye Wier, Pauline Brock, Una Sue “Boots” Pannell and a stillborn infant.

Alline is survived by three children, Allen Greenfield and wife, Carol; Paul Greenfield and wife, Linda; and Mary Jane Laub and husband, Duane; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral Services for Alline Greenfield were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sep. 4, 2021, in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove. The Rev. Tom Fortner served as the officiant while special songs were “Lead Me Gently Home Father,” “How Long Has It Been” and “Whispering Hope.” Serving as pallbearers were David Greenfield, Paul Waller, Kevin Carlile, Steve Greenfield, Cody Greenfield, Wyatt Greenfield, Jason Laub and Matt Gray. Burial was in the Thomas Cemetery, Norwood, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
