Hartville holds off Norwood in tight battle

Five days after knocking off Nixa to win a Blue and Gold championship for the second year in a row, the Hartville Eagles had to travel to Norwood last Tuesday for an important Summit Conference game.

While many area fans expected the Pirates to be competitive early, even the most supportive fans may not have expected a slim seven point loss to the defending Class 2 state champions.

In the match-up, a sluggish Eagles squad could never pull away from a hungry Pirates team, but did just enough in a 46-39 victory.

Hartville’s offense shot just 38% from the field (16-of-42) and 43% from the free throw line (9-of-21).
