Graduation tribute is coming soon

Posted

If you are a business or a family member of a Class of 2020 graduate wanting to show your support for seniors throughout Wright County, then I encourage you to be a part of our Graduation Section to be published on Wednesday, June 10 in the new Wright County Journal.

The deadline for participating though is Friday, May 29.

We have special ad rates established for parents and businesses. The section will include graduate photos from senior students who attend school districts in Mountain Grove, Mansfield, Norwood and Hartville.

If you are interested in participating, please call Alonda at our office at 417-926-5148 or email ads2@ozarkmedia.com.

In recent days, each of the four school districts have been planning for ways to honor these graduates, who due to the COVID-19 crisis, had their final part of their senior year stolen from them.

Seniors planning to participate in extracurricular activities this spring lost their opportunity to do so with something way outside of their control. We only get to be a senior in high school one time in life. Unfortunately, these students will not get to experience the many joys that many of us had as we finished up our time in secondary education.

I applaud each of the school districts and parents for any efforts they are making to celebrate these students before they officially receive their diplomas and become alumni of their respective school districts.

Graduations, Facebook tribute efforts, proms, parades and senior weeks are among other ways to send out these students on a high note.

May we not overlook what the next month or so means to these students and may all of us try to make it as special as possible for them in little ways and big ways.

They only get this opportunity once and so do we. Together, let’s make the most of it.
