Glenda Sue Palmer

Glenda Sue Palmer was born Sep. 20, 1946, in Hartville, and passed away Oct. 7, 2021, in Springfield. Glenda was 75 years of age. Glenda was born and raised in Hartville. She graduated with the class of 1964 and then attended college at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. Glenda later returned to Hartville, where she raised her two daughters. She worked for Zenith for a few years and worked for Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory for 13 years. Glenda later started her own daycare in her home for nearly 30 years. She loved attending her daughters’ sporting events and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved all animals, especially cats. Glenda was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Palmer, and a host of aunts and uncles. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Keith, of Marshfield, and Lisa Gupton (Brandon), of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren, Grayson Gupton, Lilah Gupton and Silas Gupton; and many cousins.

Visitation for Glenda Palmer was held from 2-2:45 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Hartville, followed by Graveside Services at 3 p.m. at Steele Memorial Cemetery.  Brandon Gupton, son-in-law, officiated the service. Grayson Gupton, Lilah Gupton, Silas Gupton, Clarence “Junior” Palmer, Kevin Keith, Lonnie Palmer and Jason Palmer served as pallbearers. Special songs were “Amazing Grace” and “In The Gloryland Way.” Burial was in the Steele Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Hartville.
