Freda (Ipock) McCarty

Freda (Ipock) McCarty, the last heir of this generation, died Sep. 16, at Cox Hospital, Springfield, at 79 years and 8 months.

Standing by her (in the photo above) is her father, Mose Elbert Ipock; Lois Corder (Judd), Mansfield; Norma Bledsoe (Gene), Independence; Aunt Freda, Mountain Grove; Esta Moody (Wayne), Mansfield; Eva Mays (Jack), Seymour. Not pictured was her mother, Sarah Della (Gaskell) Ipock, who died in 1948 when Freda was 7 years old.

She is survived by her brother-in-law and wife, Wayne and Dorothy Moody, Seymour.

As she has no children of her own, these were hers; Carol (Corder) Watterson, of Mansfield; Donna (Corder) Mistler, of Owensville; Larry Corder, of Republic; Gary Corder, of Mansfield; Sharon (Bledsoe) Terry, of Kansas; Ronnie Bledsoe, of Kansas; Leslie Moody, of Mansfield; Norman Moody, of Mansfield; Karen (Moody) Wilson, of Mansfield; and Roger Mays, of Diggins.

Private services were held on Oct. 16, 2021 at No. 5 Cemetery, Pleasant Valley Rd., Mansfield.

Attending brother-in-law and nieces and nephews with special cousin Jr. Ipock, of Rogersville.

The family thanks everyone for their kind words and help during this time.

Freda was saved as a small child and attended Lead Hill Free Will Baptist Church for many years. Some of her last words were “I am praying we all make it to Heaven.”

Fun fact: Little known fact that about Freda, she never learned to drive until later in her life. She achieved a 10-year safety award as a truck driver.
