Franklin J. Longwell

On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Franklin J. Longwell went to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on Dec. 16, 1959, to Elvis and Carol Longwell in Belvidere, Ill.  Frank had two great loves in his life; his children and his grandchildren. He believed in working hard and treating people with respect. Everyone he encountered was treated as a friend. In 2015, Frank was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and decided to spend his remaining years surrounded by family. Frank enjoyed gardening and working on projects with his children. He enjoyed passing on the extensive knowledge that he had gained over the years and sharing stories about his life, the good and the bad.  Frank was survived in death by son, Travis Longwell and wife, Anne; daughter, Amy Perkins and husband, Gary; son, Darren Johnson; daughter, Elizabeth Heisler and husband, Robert; daughter, Stephanie Boscatto and husband, Germán; and daughter, Sara Longwell; grandchildren, Ethan, Aaliyah, Morgan, Emma, Brooklyn, Evan, Scarlett, Willow, Olivia, Sophie and Giovanni; brothers, Rob Longwell and wife, Pam, and David Longwell; sisters, Diana Longwell Smith and husband, David; Lisa Longwell O’Neil and husband, Peter; and Jeanie Longwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvis and Carol Longwell, and brother, Stephen Longwell. Frank lived a good life surrounded by those he loved most and will be deeply missed by those whose lives were blessed to be touched by his. Funeral services for Frank Longwell were held Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home with Germán Boscatto officiating. Song selections were “Daddy’s Hands,” “See You Again” and “Spirit In The Sky.” Travis Longwell, Ethan Longwell, Rob Longwell, Robert Heisler, Gary Perkins and Germán Boscatto served as pallbearers.
