Floyd Richard Turley was born Nov. 15, 1972, in Mansfield, and departed this life with his wife by his side on May 6, 2020, at his home near Mountain Grove. He was 47 years, 5 months and 21 days of age.

Floyd grew up and attended school in Mansfield. He met his wife, Melanie, in 2006 and reunited in 2013 and they celebrated their anniversary every Sep. 1. In 2018, Floyd and Melanie moved to their country home north of Mountain Grove. Family was everything to Floyd. Most of his conversations were about his wife and children. His best friends were his sons. He loved spending the day kicked back watching movies with the boys. Floyd spent his time with his family, working on his and his dad’s cars, going to the drag strip and truck pulls, and recently rides on his Harley. If Floyd loved you, he made sure you knew it.

Floyd was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Pauline Turley; maternal grandmother, Barbara Tummons; aunt, June Calhoun; and two sisters, Barbara Pauline and Patsy Darlene. Survivors include his father and step-mother, James and Ellen Turley; his mother, Betty Tummons; his wife, Melanie of the home; two sons, James Richard Pennington, of Sedalia, and Zachery Floyd Turley, of the home; two step-sons, Chase Moore, of Seymour, and Zain Sutton, of Mountain Grove; one step-daughter, Candience Donaho, of Mansfield; three brothers, Bo Turley and wife, Tonya, of Sedalia; Mike Turley, of Mountain Grove; and Clint Dunlap and wife, Sarah, of Mountain Grove; eight sisters, Sally Shannon and husband, Dale, of Marshfield; Angela Evans, of Springfield; Valerie Barnum, of Springfield; Gina Davidson, of Kansas City; Sherry Turley, of Springfield; Karol Nagy and husband, Jessy, of Mountain Grove; Casondra Garrison and husband Joe, of Mountain Grove; and Samantha Tummons, of Springfield; four uncles, Rick Turley and wife, Serena; Bobby Turley and wife, Angie; Kenny Turley and wife, Ginney; and Carl Turley and wife, Kay; one aunt, Joanee Murray; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Memorial services for Floyd Turley will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Davis officiating. Song selections are “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” “Jealous Of The Angels,” “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone” and “Lead Me Home.” Cremation and services are under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
