Everett Louis Penn, Sr.

Everett Louis Penn, Sr., son of Louis Penn and Loye Etta Miller Penn, was born July 6, 1952, in Syracuse, Kan., and departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at his home near Mansfield, at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 8 days. On May 22, 1979, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Rae Hamill in Great Bend, Kan., and to this union five children were born. He was raised in southwest Kansas and pipelined in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and moved to Mansfield in 1993. In his spare time, he loved raising chickens, geese, pigeons or any type of poultry. Everett was a hardworking man that loved his family, and he will be deeply missed.    

He was preceded in death by his mother and sisters, Etta Collen, and Debbie Lou. Everett is survived by his father, Louis Penn, of Brownfield, Texas; his wife, Rhonda, of the home; three sons, Everett Penn, Jr. and wife, Neva, of Mansfield; Edward Penn, of New Jersey; and Adam Penn, of Brownfield, Texas; two daughters, Gina Myers, and Jessica Barrett and husband, Clinton, all of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren (and two more on the way); four brothers, Howard Penn, of Mansfield; Kenneth, of Macomb; Oscar Penn and Floyd Penn, both of Brownfield, Texas; sister, Ida Langhennig, of Brownfield, Texas; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside service and burial was held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Mansfield Cemetery. Song selections were “Broken Halo,” “Shine Your Light” and “If You Get There Before I Do.” The Rev. Mark Davis and Hank Flageolle officiated. Aaron Myers, Clint Barrett, Cory Parsons, Howard Penn, Skylar Penn, Everett Penn, Jr. and Adam Penn served as pallbearers.
