Edward Jacob Teeple

Edward Jacob Teeple passed away on Feb. 1, 2022 at the age of 96. He began his life on June 26, 1925, born to Bert and Minnie Teeple of the Richville Community in Eastern Douglas County and is preceded in death by his parents and former wife Jean Teeple. Edward is survived by his wife, Glenda Teeple; daughter, Diane Reid and husband, Terry, of Nixa; son, Stephen Teeple and wife, Stacey, of Dora; grandchildren, Stephen Teeple, of Dayton, Ohio; James Teeple, of Johns Island, S.C.; Melissa Duff; and Jennifer Hutton, of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Isaac Teeple, Henry Teeple, Kinsey Teeple, Benjamin Teeple, Anika Reid, Addison Hutton and Brinkley Hutton. Edward was a veteran of WWII, Korean and Vietnam wars spanning a period of almost 30 years, enlisting into the Navy on June 5th, 1942. During WWII, he participated in invasions and engagements throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. He resided in Douglas County and was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Ava. Edward enjoyed traveling, golf and boating. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM of Missouri for more than 70 years and was also a member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of Springfield and Shriners International.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, 407 N Mansfield Rd, Ava, and interred with military honors at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd, Springfield, at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
