Dorlyn Mae Goodson, 81, of Lebanon, died Friday evening, May 15, 2020, at Lebanon North Nursing and Rehab. in Lebanon. She was born Oct. 10, 1938, in Kampsville, Ill. to Floyd E. and Ola Viola Sutton Carver. On Aug. 16, 1980, she married Melvin A. Goodson, and they shared 32 years before his passing on Sept. 22, 2012. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Melvin; parents; five brothers, Gean, Lawrence, Frank, Charlie and Henry, and a sister, Maryola. Dorlyn was raised in Centerville, Mo. and then moved to the Long Lane area where she lived for many years. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, she worked as a nurse’s aide in various places and also did some private home care. Dorlyn had attended the New Apostolic Church in Springfield and in Conway. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Hatfield of Lebanon; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James Rousan of Elsinore, Mo.; a sister, Deloris Stouffer of Little Rock, Ark.; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. There will be no local service for Dorlyn Mae Goodson, and she will be buried in the VA Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
