Wright County’s four high school districts and their fall sports teams recently received their district assignments.
Football
The Mountain Grove Panthers football team has several new potential postseason match-ups awaiting them at the end of the season after the recent class and district football assignments.
In Class 3, District 6, the Panthers’ championship game opponent, the Buffalo Bison, remains.
Those two teams will be joined by Aurora, Reeds Spring, Seneca, Hollister and Cassville. Cassville reached the Final Four in Class 3 a year ago.
Volleyball
In volleyball, the returning Mansfield Lady Lions program was chosen for Class 2, District 9. That district also includes Houston, Liberty (Mountain View) and Thayer.
No site information has been provided.
In Class 3, District 10, the Mountain Grove Lady Panthers will once again host postseason play. The other teams include Ava, Forsyth, Hollister and Willow Springs.
As for softball, Norwood will be in Class 1, District 2. The other teams are Crocker, Dora, Newburg, Richland and Stoutland. No host site information has been released.
Hartville will be in a tough Class 2, District 1 group that includes Chaffee, Gainesville, Greenville, Kelly, Saxony Lutheran, Seymour and Twin Rivers.
No district assignments have been released for cross country as of press time.
