Community Foundation taking grant applications

Posted

The Mtn. Grove Area Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its fall grant-making cycle.  Any area not-for-profit organization is eligible to apply for a grant.  Typical grant amounts are $250 to $1,000. Preference will be given to organizations who indicate they are willing to use the Foundation grant as a matching grant. “A matching grant is one in which a group has a need for a certain amount, for example $2,000. The group indicates it plans to start raising money toward its goal.  The Foundation would then agree to match the money raised by the group up to a predetermined amount – in this example, maybe as much as $1,000,” indicated Dr. David Barbe, Foundation president.

Grant applications are available for completion on line or download from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks grant application website: https://www.grantinterface.com/Process/Apply?urlkey=cfozarksgrants  or may be picked up from Kim Norris (American Family Insurance) or Dr. David Barbe (Mercy Clinic).

Completed applications are due by Thursday, Dec. 10 and may be returned to the locations above or mailed to MG Area Community Foundation, P.O. Box 404, Mountain Grove, Mo. 65711. Grant recipient finalists may be contacted by the Foundation Board to discuss their application.

Grants will be awarded in late December. Since established in 2004, the funds in the MGACF has given out more than $700,000 in grants and scholarships.  For more information on the Foundation, to make a donation or establish a fund, contact Kim Norris, 926-3446 or Dr. David Barbe, 926-6111.
