Clovis Raymond Coble, son of Ivan Coble and Grace Nevels Coble, was born Nov. 13, 1925 and departed this life Oct. 7, 2020 at Willow Springs. He was 94 years, 11 months and 14 days. Clovis retired from Stoddard Oil Co. He grew up in Vanzant and went to school in Mountain Grove. He lived on a farm in Douglas County for many years and attended Vanzant Baptist Church, where he was saved. He enjoyed serving the Lord and served as a deacon for many years. He was an avid fisherman, where he fished the lakes of Missouri and Canada. Clovis was an Army veteran. He was married to Ruth Nadine Coble on Dec. 25, 1948. They had three sons, Clovis Elvin Coble and twins, Dale and David Coble. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evan and Grace Coble; one son, David Coble; three sisters; and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Coble, of Mountain Grove; son, Clovis Elvin Coble and wife, Sheila Coble, of San Antonio, Texas; Dale Coble and wife, Diann Coble, of Mountain Grove; six grandchildren; nine grandchildren; and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
