Clinton Duane Ussery

Clinton Duane Ussery, son of Glen and Linda (Saladin) Ussery, was born Jan. 15, 1964, in Springfield, and departed this life Nov. 2, 2020, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 56 years of age. Clinton was raised in Norwood, and was a graduate with the Norwood High School Class of 1982. He worked as a welder for many years at Paul Mueller Company in Springfield, and later transferred to Watson’s in Springfield, where he currently worked. Clinton enjoyed riding horses, hunting, watching football games, every John Wayne movie made and episodes of M.A.S.H. He also loved spending time with his family.

Clinton was preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne Ussery; two brothers, Lindal and Andrew Ussery; and his mother, Linda Ussery. He is survived by two sons, Clinton Ussery, Jr., of Missouri; and Glendon Ussery, of Norwood; one daughter, Cheynne Ussery, of Willow Springs; three grandchildren, Brayden, Alycia and Parker, all of Willow Springs; his father, Glen Ussery, of Dittmer; one sister, Connie Schumacher and husband, Jason, of Dittmer; four nieces; four nephews; several cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Graveside services for Clinton Ussery were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Norwood. Pastor James Hurt officiated the service. Special songs were “I Won’t Back Down,” “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Lead Me Home.” Burial was under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
