Cledith Todd Gourley

Cledith Todd Gourley, daughter of Robert Elmer and Zona (Allen) Todd, was born Aug. 16, 1923 near Hartville in Wright County. She grew up in the Odin community living on the family farm homestead. She departed this life on July 14, 2021 at Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool at the age of 97 years, 10 months and 29 days. She graduated Hartville high School in 1942 and pursued her lifelong secretarial career. She married Harold Gourley on Oct. 12, 1944 and they both worked at CF&I Steel Company in Colorado making that their home until retirement. After retiring they moved to the Gourley family farm near Hartville and lived there until Harold’s passing in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Zola Mae Greenlee; niece and nephew, Allen and Ann Greenlee; and special aunt and uncle, Bob and Lola Todd. Cledith is survived by many great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Cledith has spent the last several years as a resident at the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool. She enjoyed friends, family dinners and good times and laughter. She was always willing to help others in their time of need. A special thank you to the Kabul Nursing Home for the special care shown during her stay there.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Hartville with officiant Matthew DeCocq. Recorded musical selections included “There’s a Record Book” by Rhonda Vincent and “He Looked Beyond My Fault” by The Rambos. Escorts included Allen Odom, Dorse Odom, Rex Todd and Matthew DeCocq. The final resting place was in Steele Memorial Cemetery in Hartville.
