Clarence Donald Taylor

Clarence Donald Taylor was born on Jan. 26, 1944, to Clarence and Audrey Taylor in Blue Eye, and passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, at his home in Seymour, at 77 years of age. Don was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Dorais on April 29, 1967. Four sons were born to this union: Wesley, James, Larry and Travis. Don served in the United States Army for three years following his high school graduation. After his stint in the Army, he went to work for the phone company, where he enjoyed a 40-year career. Don and Pat moved to Hartville, where they raised their sons and lived for 45 years. They have been living in Seymour for the past three years. Don attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Mansfield, where he served as an usher and served on the Parish council. He also served on the Hartville Rural Fire Protection Association board for many years. Don's hobbies included fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and grandkids. He was preceded in death by parents, and his brothers and sisters.   Don is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Taylor; four sons, Wesley Taylor and his wife, Andrea; James Taylor and his wife, Laura; Larry Taylor and his wife, Ginger; and Travis Taylor; five grandchildren, Lauren Montgomery and her husband, Travis; Gabby Taylor; Ava Taylor; Clemmie Taylor; and Lucie Taylor; and two great-grandchildren, Ki and Ben Montgomery; and many friends who will miss him. Visitation for Don Taylor was held Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, from 5-7 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Hartville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Mansfield with Deacon Joe Kurtenbach officiating. Burial was in Mansfield Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Hartville.
