Posted

The official deadline to reserve your spot on the Citywide Yard Sale map for Mountain Grove is this Thursday, May 27.

The cost is just $5 to have your sale pointed out on a map that will be printed in the June 2 issue of the Wright County Journal.

This year’s Citywide Yard Sale is officially set for Thursday, June 3 through Saturday, June 5.

If you have a business that might be interested in sponsoring an ad for the Citywide Yard Sale map, be sure to reach out to Alonda Jones by emailing her, ads2@ozarkmedia.com.

As for the June 2 issue, due to the Memorial Day holiday, all news and advertising items must be turned in and scheduled no later than noon on Thursday, May 27.

The Wright County Journal will be going to press one day later on Friday, May 28. This is due to the printing press being closed on Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 31.

We appreciate your assistance in helping us meet this deadline request on such a short notice.

Congratulations to spring sports athletes

I want to take this time to congratulate the many spring sports athletes from throughout Wright County who have enjoyed some success in the postseason this spring.

Hartville’s 4x800-meter relay team leads the pack as the Eagles’ runners took second in the Class 2 State Championships. This was a wonderful way for them to finish their fantastic season.

Other track stand-out finishes at the state championships includes Hartville’s 4x400-meter relay team that earned All-State honors with an eighth place finish.

Mansfield’s Skylar Adams took fourth in the 1,600 meters.

Meanwhile, Norwood’s Annie Sullivan placed eighth in the Class 1 State Championships in the discus event.

Mountain Grove’s Jozey Sharp-MacPherson and Macey Penner both earned top four finishes in Sectionals to qualify for their state meet this week.

In baseball, the Norwood Pirates won the district championship in dominating fashion by outscoring two opponents by a 30-1 margin.

Again, congratulations to all of these young athletes for their outstanding performances for their programs.
