Mayor Tucker opened the bids for the water tower cleaning and inspection. Two bids were received. Maguire Iron, Inc. for $1850 per tower and Ozark Applicators for $2500 for the first four hours and $400  per hour thereafter per tower.  The Board accepted Maguire Iron, Inc.’s bid.

Carla Spooner reported to the Council that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and US Department of Commerce had stopped by City Hall to congratulate Hartville for becoming the new US Census mean center of population. They will provide the City with a plaque and will have a dedication ceremony.  No date has been set.

Mayor Tucker opened the bids for propane. The City received one bid from Brooks Gas Company for a firm price of $1.59 per gallon. The Board approved the measure.

Melvin Moon introduced Bill 549, An Ordinance Establishing The Rate Of Pay Of Commissioned Reserve Police Officer Of The City Of Hartville. There were no nay votes. Mayor Rob Tucker declared the bill duly passed and numbered Ordinance 549.

Carla Spooner informed the Council that Chris Dashley had reported that the pump on the well down at the Hartville City Park had been turning off and on repeatedly. Ferguson Pumping was consulted and stated it was possible the foot valve on the pump line was not closing properly. It was estimated to pull and replace the valve would be $350-$400. The Board approved to pay up to $500 in repairs to the pump on the well at the park if the problem persists with it repeatedly turning off and on.
