Christmas Parade and Bazaar in Norwood this Saturday

Posted

The Norwood Betterment Club will hold the annual Christmas Parade, Bazaar and Santas Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 20. This year the theme is “The Magic of Christmas.” The Parade will be held at 1 p.m. beginning at the school. If you wish to participate, please be at the school to line-up by 12:30 p.m.

Booths will be open for shopping from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room. Santa will be available for pictures after the parade until 3 p.m.

The Santa’s Workshop will be open for kids to shop for their parents, grandparents or siblings. Cost is a donation to cover the cost of wrapping supplies. The Leon Pendergrass Spirit of Giving Award will be presented in the Multipurpose Room following the parade. The Leon Pendergrass Spirit of Giving Award is given each year to an individual or group from the Norwood community who is nominated for their generous spirit through acts of kindness, work within the community or charitable giving.

The recipient of this year’s award is Cindy Sullivan. She will serve as Grand Marshal for the parade.

This year, as a fundraiser, the Norwood Betterment Club is asking businesses, group or individuals to decorate a wreath or tree and donate it for the silent auction. Awards will be given for Judges Choice and People’s Choice. You can be creative and do a theme tree or wreath such as a tree themed like a Christmas Movie or a sports team or you can enter a tree or wreath with all handmade items. The more creative the better! Trees can be turned in to Mrs. Rosso at the Norwood School Library during school hours or at the Mountain Grove License Office Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or you can call or text Cristy at 417-268-5260 to make arrangements. Tree and wreaths need to be turned in by the end of the day on Thursday, Nov. 18. Come out and bid on these trees and wreaths on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

These will be just in time for you Christmas decorating! The money raised from the tree/wreath auction will be used for things like Flag Service in Norwood, Easter and Halloween activities for kids, park and pavilion improvements and more. If you would like to have a booth at the Christmas Bazaar, they are $15 each.

Please call Alaina Watts at 417-343-6221 for booth information or to register. For more, call Rick Bruffett at 417-259-6645.
