Charles Edgar “Eddie” Rogers, son of the late Charles and Versal (Bittick) Rogers, was born Sep. 17, 1965, in Cabool, and passed away July 6, 2020, at his home near Mountain Grove. He was 54 years, 9 months and 19 days of age. Eddie graduated from Mountain Grove High School with the Class of 1983.Eddie grew up on the family farm where he lived his entire life. He was the fourth generation to farm the land. Eddie helped his dad and mom milk cows, raise calves, put up hay and take care of the farm. Eddie continued to work the farm and milk the cows after his mom and dad retired. He eventually changed to beef cattle. Eddie loved his tractors and loved working the farm. Eddie loved playing pool, coon hunting, going to auctions, buying, trading and negotiating with people. He loved the yearly deer hunting get-togethers with his uncles and his dad. He liked hanging with his buddies, telling jokes and stories.  Eddie was good hearted and always tried to help people out.  Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Versal Rogers. He is survived by his sister, Shari Brame, of Mountain Grove; two aunts, Phyllis Walker and Betty Bittick; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives who will miss him. Visitation for Eddie Rogers was held Friday, July 10, 2020, from 1-2 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Funeral services followed the visitation at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frankie McCune officiating. Song selections were “You’ve Got To Stand For Something,” “Homecoming” and “Heartland.” Danny Lathrom, Scott Bittick, Tim Hill, Gary Bittick, Don Eddie Wheat, Dale Melton, Allen Melton, Randy Hicks, Kris Hayes and David Melton served as pallbearers. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research in care of the funeral home.
