Ceola Mae (Burris) Jordan

Ceola Mae (Burris) Jordan, daughter of the late Roy and Estlee (Snow) Burris, was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life Sep. 8, 2021, at her home near Hartville. She was 79 years, 8 months and 30 days of age. Ceola grew up in the Hartville area, and attended grades one through eight at the Durbin one-room school. She attended Hartville High School and graduated in 1962. She married Danny Wade Jordan on June 4, 1965, and one son, Tim, was born to this union. They moved to Kansas City and she worked at Western Electric for nearly 10 years. They later moved to Springfield and she worked at General Electric for 32 years. At the time of her retirement, Ceola was foreman of the repair department and was over 26 employees. After retirement, they moved to their farm near Hartville, where she resided until her passing. Ceola enjoyed doing many different types of crafts, quilting, word searches and adult coloring books. She also attended the Durbin Church of Christ.

Ceola was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Jordan, and two sisters, Charlene Tittle and Bonnie Stivers. She is survived by her son, Tim Jordan, of Hartville; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will miss her.   Graveside services for Ceola Jordan were held Tuesday, Sep.14, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Durbin Cemetery, Hartville, with the Rev. Melvin Moon officiating. Song selections were “Peace In The Valley,” “Amazing Grace” and “I Won’t Have To Cross Jordan Alone.”
