Cecil Eugene Allen (Gene) left us Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020. He was born to Robert Allen and Nettie (Walker) Allen on Sep. 3, 1938. He was the last of 10 children. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters: Nels Allen (Norma), Norwood; Emmett Allen (Christine), Mansfield; Jesse Allen (Alice), Norwood; Bob Allen (Doris), Mountain Grove; and Lester Allen (Kathy), Mansfield. His sisters were Verba Holdt, Springfield; Mary Allen, Mansfield; Alta Freeman (Lester), Mountain Grove; and Mildred Swain, Mansfield. Gene is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vicky Parsons Allen; one son, Jerry Lee Allen (Carolyn), Mansfield; one grandson, Cory M. Allen, Mansfield; Hailey Gallegos (Steven), Springfield; two step grandsons, Chris Venable (Jessica), Norwood, and Josh Venable (Brittany), Nixa; and four great grandchildren, Cameron and Jackson, Norwood, and Ella and Lilly, Nixa. He was also survived by special nephews and nieces whom he loved very much and have been very important to him. Gene was very much a people person. He never forget a friend, and when he would run across someone, he would always try to find out who their parents or grandparents were. He could usually trace them back to someone he had known. Gene was in the blown insulation business for many years and that gave him a chance to get acquainted and visit with even more people. He loved horses, and at one time, owned the world champion Foxtrotter named Cindy Lou. She was quite a horse and everyone loved to ride her. He also loved his donkeys. He was a good friend to many.

Graveside services were scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Hensley Cemetery just north of Mansfield on Hensley Road, weather pending. Luncheon afterward was scheduled for Mansfield Christian Church.
