Carrol “Doc” Pickle

Carrol “Doc” Pickle, 86, went to his heavenly home, Oct. 16, 2021 at Heart of the Ozarks Nursing Home in Ava. He was born Aug. 6, 1935, near Ingalls, Kan. to Floyd and Lois (Davis) Pickle. “Doc” married Esther Youngblood on Jan. 23, 1955. She preceded him in death July 8, 2019. Doc was a member of the Christian Church in Mansfield, a lifetime member of BPOE Elks Lodge No. 1451, Pratt, Kan., and long-time member of KAAA. Doc and Esther owned and operated Aerial Sprayers, Inc. for many years in Cimarron, Kan. and the surrounding area. He loved to sing, drive race cars and fly his airplane.

He is survived by his daughter and husband, Carolyn (Duane) Schmidt, of Bend, Ore.; and son and wife, Michael (Kathy) Pickle, of Edmond, Okla.; brothers/sister-in-laws, Delbert (Violet) and Wayne (Sandy); brother-in-law, Jerry Maxwell; and four grandchildren. Doc was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Esther; sister Marjorie Maxwell and grandson Kevin Pickle. Cremation has taken place. A family gathering to celebrate Doc’s life will take place at a later date.
