Carmen Emilia Peña Meneses

Carmen Emilia Peña Meneses was called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, Sep. 24, 2021, in Willow Springs. She was born on Sep. 4, 1937, in New York, N.Y. Carmen was united in marriage and to this union four children were born, Celeste, Walter Michael, Cathy and Caryn, whom she adored and raised with love and strength. She lived most of her adult life in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Carmen dedicated much of her life to helping others and worked as a home health coordinator for 30 years prior to retiring. The job she loved most was being a mother and grandmother. One of Carmen’s hobbies was sewing. She made different clothes for her children, grandchildren and other family members. One of her favorite pastimes was to read. In 2018, she rededicated her life to her faith and Jesus Christ.

Carmen is survived by her four children: Celeste Meneses, East Chester, N.Y.; Walter Michael Meneses and his wife, Mary, Bowling Green, Ohio; Cathy Lewis, Cabool; and Caryn Meneses and Joey, Woodbury, Conn.; eight grandchildren, Laura Lewis and Jake; Matthew Lewis and his wife, Idalis; Abby Rossi and her husband, Chris; Philip Meneses and his wife, Marie; Catherine Meneses and fiancé, Chris; Emma and Tara Meneses; and Austin Kinder; and one great-grandchild, Elliott Meneses. She will also be missed by the additional family and friends she brought together with the love, kindness and joy she was known for. A memorial service for Carmen Meneses was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove, with Jay Dyck officiating. Song selections were “What A Day That Will Be” and “Heaven’s Now My Home.” Cremation and service were under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
