Barbara Jo McCaslin, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Jan. 28, 2022. Barbara Jo was born on Feb. 5, 1942 to Frances and Joe Finley of the Whetstone area in Mountain Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Joe Finley; brother, Jerry Finley and his wife, Jeanne; husband, Bob McCaslin; and nephew, Sean Preece. She is survived by her sons, Shane Glor and Shannon (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Alexandra “Lexy” Glor, Kassandra Glor and Fisher Millman; niece, Cindy Finley-Northcutt; and nephew, Doug Finley. Barbara Jo graduated from Mountain Grove High School and Drury University majoring in education. She received her Specialist Degree in Education Administration from Missouri State University. Barbara Jo had a positive impact on hundreds, if not thousands, of students during her 44-year career in education as a teacher in Alaska, California and retiring as elementary principal from the Hermitage R-IV School District in Missouri. Barbara Jo will be missed deeply by her many friends, family and former students. Please remember her as you will and how she made an impact on you and your loved ones.

A Celebration of Life was held for Barbara Jo on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the family home located at 1868 S. White Oak Ave, Springfield, Mo. 65809. In lieu of flowers, Barbara Jo requested that you give to the Wright County Crisis Center Thrift Store at 101 S. Main St, Mountain Grove, MO 65711; 417-926-6878.
