A young driver from Ava was killed in a one vehicle accident that took place at 9:20 p.m. on Oct. 22 just three miles east of Norwood on Old U.S. Highway 60.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, Mason Duckett, 19, of Ava, was driving his 2010 Hyundai Sonata reportedly failed to negotiate a right turn and ran off the left side of the roadway.
He reportedly struck a tree and overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Wright County Coroner Ben Hurtt.
Duckett was reportedly not wearing a safety device.
