After restarting a track and field program for the first time in several years, Norwood already has an All-State athlete.
At the Class 1 State Championships held last Saturday in Jefferson City, Annie Sullivan’s toss of 29.26m was good enough for an eighth place finish in the discus event.
Her finish was also good enough to give the Lady Pirates a team point.
Norwood senior Zack Black did not have the same success, but did manage a Top-16 finish at the state meet.
He was 16th after a leap of 18’10” in the long jump event.
