Alice Strong Altis, 75, of Cabool, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. She was born at home in Manes on Aug. 1, 1945, the daughter of George and Nora (Zirschky) Crisp. Alice was well known for her daycare and she truly loved those years; retirement was not in her vocabulary, after closing the daycare, she got her CNA license and devoted her later years to taking care of the elderly. In her spare time from working 40 hours a week, she cleaned her church, loved working on her yard and doing whatever baking the community needed. Alice never passed up a garage sale.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Strong in 2013; four brothers, Dale, Gene, Junior and Buddy Crisp; and one granddaughter, Trista Cruse. She is survived by her husband, Bill Altis, of the home; her five daughters, Tammy Frame and Kenny, of Elk Creek; Becky Shelley, of Cabool; Lisa Wake and Roger, of Cabool; Pam Shane and Joseph, of Hartville; and Rhonda Stevens and Denny, of Licking; 14 grandkids; 24 great grandkids; and two great-great grandkids; special friend, Ruby Gettys; as well as many other family, friends and coworkers. She was loved and will be greatly missed. Heaven has gained another angel. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at the Cabool Cemetery with Terry Brown officiating. Interment was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. Online condolences may be made at www.egcfuneralhome.com.
