Local students attend Missouri Girls State at Lindenwood College

Three local students attended Missouri Girls State at Lindenwood College this summer in St. Charles, thanks to the help of an area business and organizations.
Missouri Girls State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary as an educational experience in how our representative form of government works and patriotic instructions.
The local students were Landry Golden, Zoey Criner and Evelyn Virtue.
Kiwanis of Mountain Grove paid the tuition of $500 for Landry Golden to attend for a week of hands on learning and to hear informative speakers. Progressive Ozark Bank paid the tuition of $500 for Zoey Criner to attend for a week of hands on learning and to hear informative speakers.
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 30 paid the tuition of $500 for Evelyn Virtue to attend for a week of hands on learning and to hear informative speakers.
To be eligible to attend, girls must satisfactorily complete their junior year of high school, be involved in the community and participate in extracurricular activities and be nominated by their guidance counselor.
