Wilbur James Wiyrick

Wilbur James Wiyrick, 91, of Mt. Vernon, passed away peacefully on Nov. 26, 2025. He was born on Oct. 27, 1934, in Mountain Grove, to Noble H. and Ermal (Smith) Wiyrick. Wilbur graduated from Houston High School in Houston, in 1953 and was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean (Freeman) on March 10, 1956. He resided in Graff, where he ran a dairy farm until his retirement in 1995, after which he relocated to Mt. Vernon.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Wiyrick; his son, Russell J. Wiyrick; his grandchildren, Lori West, Sheena and Vince Anello, Kristin and Josh Budzyna, and Craig and Jessica Freitag; and his great-grandchildren, Avian West, Sam, Annabelle, and Charlotte Anello, and Stella and Ryder Freitag.
A celebration of life will be held at Chesapeake Baptist Church in Chesapeake at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025.
